Every photographer edits differently and it’s interesting to see how drastically different the results can be!
So, here’s my edit of this week’s Fix-It Friday photo. And here’s what I did to get the result I ended up with:
I started by running The Pioneer Woman’s Boost action. Next I took the magnetic lasso and selected only the boy’s face and hair and increased the curves on it to lighten it. Then I cropped the photo and tilted it a little. I then burned the edges everywhere except on the boy’s face and hair. I then ran The Pioneer Woman’s Sharpen This action and used the brush on just the boy’s hair, eyelashes and lips. I then flattened the image, duplicated the layer and to that layer I selected >Filter >Render >Lens Flare and selected the 100mm flare, put it in the top right corner at about 105%. I then flattened the image again and ran The Pioneer Woman’s Sharpen image and saved it.
I, also, quickly changed the photo into a black and white, but I didn’t think it looked good, even after playing around a little with the levels and opacity, etc. It could be me, I’ve not found a process that I’m in love with for black & whites. Or, maybe some photos just don’t render well when not in color.?
So… what do you think of my editing?
