Weed Or Wildflower?

I was riding my bike yesterday and breezed by a field and this plant, what some would call a weed, caught my eye.  I only saw it for a few seconds since I was probably going between 10 and 15 mph. But it stuck out like a sore thumb.  Not only was it pretty, at the time it had four or five butterflies on it.  So, after finishing my ride I grabbed my camera and rode back to the weed/wildflower.  I wish you could have seen me!

I parked my bike off the side of the road, and crouched down in the ditch to take pictures of a weed!  Some people were probably thinking I lost my mind! This wasn’t a subdivision road with a speed limit of 25. This is a narrow country road with basically a speed limit of whatever you feel like driving at the moment.  But for those of you who love photography, you understand my insanity! Here’s what resulted from my tempting of fate! (lol!)

This is my favorite. Technically it may not be the perfect photo, but I love the way the butterflies are hanging in mid-air and the way the sun is filtered through the tall grass in the background. I used Florabella’s Vintage Summer II action on it to mute the colors.

For this one I added saturation by using the Pioneer Woman’s Boost action.  I erased it from the butterfly though, it made him too dark I thought.  :)
