For The Love Of Macro, And Someone Needs To Tend My Garden

I see so many tutorials on Macro Photography and I’m always surprised by it.  To me, it’s just about the easiest photography there is.  Usually if you can get close enough to get a good close up of something, it’s not something that is going to be moving around a lot.  I especially love my 50mm lens for Macro.  I set it wide open (f1.8) and if it’s a sunny day, ISO of 100 will be fine and then set the exposure.  I ran in to get my camera because there were two huge blue butterflies on my flower, but they left before I got out.  Oh, well, not gonna let that spoil my photographing urge.  So here’s a few quick Macros I captured.

I love this!  He just flew on here while I was taking the photo of the yellow flowers (below) and I shot him…  but look how cool, I didn’t realize it till I pulled it up in Photoshop – there’s a spider web under him in the hook!

The bottom of his left wing is missing – it didn’t seem to hinder him though!

How’s my garden grow?  Apparently too fast!!  I never got around to mulching it and the weeds are as tall as the plants, (some taller) but at least I’m getting a good crop of tomatoes, and even though the cucumbers are dwindling, I got a ton of them this year too!

  2. I haven't tried doing macro lens. I think I should try it out. I wonder if I can do it with my kit lens :D

  3. @Nortehanon,
You can get some Macro, it's just a little harder with the kit lens because the Aperture doesn't go as wide. (for instance the kit lens goes to f4.0 whereas my 50mm goes to f1.8) So therefore you can't get as close as with the kit lens.
